Sarah is passionate about improving the rights, equality and status of Foster Care Workers plus the outcomes for Looked After Children, and the recruitment and retention of much needed Foster Care Workers. Through her role on the Union she hopes to bust the myths surrounding Foster Care Workers and develop a new modern Image fit for the 21st Century, and to create fair and just working conditions and rights for Carers.
Sarah has been a Foster Care Worker for 10 years and specialises in teenagers. She has sat on the Care Matters board, the Hampshire Fostering Network committee, and assists in delivering training to new Foster Care Workers. Sarah has a degree in Counselling psychotherapy and worked in adolescent mental health in the NHS before leaving to concentrate on Fostering.
